A Day at Manly Beach

Manly Beach Australia

Located in the Northern Beaches region, Manly Beach is very close to Sydney downtown, and therefore one of the favorite tourist attractions in the area. Due to the amazing surfing opportunities it provides, it has become one of the world’s most famous surfing sites. As a matter of fact, the first surfing championship ever was held there, back in 1964.

If you’re in the neighborhood, make sure you stop by. In case you need some convincing, here are several reasons that will surely lure you to spend a day at Manly Beach.

Beautiful Australia

The natural surroundings of the beach are definitely a substantial reason to visit it. The clean, pearl-white sand and crystal clear turquoise sea make a pleasant contrast to the bustling, crowded city. You can find a peaceful spot to take a dip in the transparent water, or soak up the sun a bit and get some tan. Other than that, the area is also a favorite strolling spot that offers the chance to snap some memorable photos of the horizon and the scenery.

Wining and dining – the local way

Manly Beach

Manly Beach is dotted with many fast food and snack vendors. Apart from these, there are also several prominent and high-quality restaurants that provide the visitors with fresh, local groceries prepared according to local recipes. The best way to experience a culture is through food, right?

One of such restaurants is the Whitewater Restaurant. Situated only a stone’s throw away from the water, the place boasts modern design with high-end food and drink. If you happen to be there during the happy hour, you will be shocked by how affordable everything is, from fresh seafood to cooled wine. Some of the most popular specialties include tiger prawns and traditional fish and chips.

Various sports

Surfing is unavoidably one of the activities you must try – when in Rome … If you’re inexperienced in this sport, there are many knowledgeable instructors on site to help you get started. You can also rent all the needed equipment, so don’t worry if you don’t have your own. However, surfing isn’t the only way to get active at Manly Beach. If you’re scared, or simply want to try something else, a variety of other water sports awaits, such as kayaking or snorkeling, where you can explore the underwater world. If you’d really prefer not to get wet, go for a cycling exploration around the site.

Learning a bit more

As it was said earlier, we get to know a culture when we try its typical cuisine. However, there are numerous other ways to discover the local history, the customs, and the everyday way of life. The beach and its nearby area abound with museums and art galleries that can give you the insight into the indigenous culture. There are also markets where locals sell handicrafts such as jewelry, clothes, and souvenirs.

You can also mingle with locals and tourists at the beach and explore all the tiny vendors and stalls. Perhaps you’ll find something special for yourself or someone else.

As you can see, there are numerous good reasons to spend a day at Manly Beach. Not convinced? Come and see for yourself!
